ROGER JOHNSON headed a dramatic winner for the Bluebirds as they beat Southampton 2-1.
Centre-half Johnson headed City's winner 11 seconds into injury time.
City went ahead on 41 minutes when Steve Thompson headed down and Ross McCormack almost broke clear. Saints' defender Michael Svensson challenged, but the ball ran loose for Thompson and he passed the ball low into the corner from 15 yards.

That was a sweet strike for Thommo, who remains on the transfer list and had been handing a place in the starting line-up ahead of new signing Jay Bothroyd.
It was a goal at the right time for Cardiff, but they managed to throw the lead away before half-time.
The game was on the last minute when Andy Surman moved forward down Southampton's left. Peter Whittingham was back to cover, but he was nutmegged and left trailing.
Surman swept the ball low into the penalty area and David McGoldrick, a lively, sharp forward, tucked his shot into the corner from six yards.
That was a devastating blow for the Bluebirds and a massive lift for the inexperienced Saints, whose young players ran, chased and harried to cut down space and time for City.
Johnson popped up with City's winner in injury time, rising at the far post to head goalwards. A desperate dive by keeper Kelvin Davies saw him get a hand to the ball, but he could not stop it crossing the line.
Goalkeeper Tom Heaton, Mark Kennedy and Ross McCormack were the three new boys in City's team from the start. Bothroyd went on during the sceond half.
